Henderson used his wrestling and clinch control effectively in the opening minutes. He kept Pettis pressed against the cage. Pettis landed body kicks when he broke free. Pettis then voluntarily went to his back in a seated guard position — an unusual tactic. From there he spun and secured a deep armbar on Henderson’s arm. The armbar was locked in fully.
